“Happiness is giving rather than receiving” and this statement sowed the seed of what Blooming Beacon is today-young and growing with ever enthusiastic volunteers ready to make a difference in our unjust society. This organisation was conceptualized by Saurabh Raj , a student at SRM university,on September 2013 since then we at Blooming Beacon have strived towards social uplifting of unfortunate women and children. Tagging the term “unfortunate” to the living conditions of the people we serve would be a clear understatement, while this truth may sound ugly or perhaps incite sympathy in the mind or even serve as brief conversation at gatherings, our volunteers believe that“actions speak louder than words” and we focus our energy and time to that effect because “if not us then who will?”.

The Blooming Beacon is a student NGO, striving towards bringing about a cornucopia of change in lives of homeless, needy and orphans. It is a group of socially responsible university students who volunteer for a cause that promotes social equality and indifference. The theme and precept of "The Street Store" clearly resonates with our own vision and hence we took up the initiative to provide the city one of its own. We believe this city with its unparalleled historical and cultural heritage has every right to serve its very own people. We look forward to 6th of September where all we are going to do is to provide a platform to the Chennaites to showcase their magnanimity and an urge to uplift their own society at The Island Grounds. Founder of Blooming Beacon
The three founders- Saurabh Raj, Shashikant Dubey and Shivam Sharma , they are college students, pursuing different disciplines of engineering and are not of the same academic year but they had one thing in common and that was strong enough to motivate them to get together and build an organization to reach out to the needy.“Blooming Beacon has been the guiding soul of the people and we see the happy faces of the people we reach out to and that is enough motivation for me to carry on my work for the whole year”, says Shivam Sharma, ECE, third year, SRM University and the secretary of this organization.“We are bringing in more and more helpers in our team as we plan to extend this family and our family should become the cause of uplifting in the lives of the needy”, said by Saurabh Raj and Sashi Dubey.
